Conscious Events Calendar Aljezur

We use a Telegram bot that can be invited to local Telegram groups. The bot sends new posts from the group to our n8n-server, where we run some natural language processing magic.

With a bit of AI help, we automatically extract the key event details and create new events in a shared Google Calendar.

Pretty fancy, right? Welcome to the future! 😉

This is an early alpha test, so please expect some quirks and rough edges:

• Do not rely on AI!
  We use artificial intelligence to extract event data from Telegram posts. Keep in mind: AI can make mistakes!
• Image-only posts can’t be processed.
  If all the info is only on a flyer image, the bot can’t read it. Please make sure all important details (date, time, location, price) are included as text in your Telegram post.
• Multiple events in one post aren’t fully supported yet.
  If a post contains several different events, only the first one will be added to the calendar.
• No easy editing or deleting of events (yet).
  Once an event is in the calendar, it can’t be updated or removed through this system.
• No recurring events (yet).
  As a workaround you can manually send an updated Telegram post for each week (adjust the date!) to ConsciousEventsAljezurBot to create a calendar entry.
• Always double-check the source.
  Please always double-check the original Telegram post (see the link in the event description) and read the full conversation in the Telegram group for any updates or last-minute changes before you go.

We have already implemented a major improvement to keep the calendar clean and accurate:

• 2025-12-09: AI-powered duplicate detection:
  Every 30 minutes, an automated system scans the entire calendar using semantic analysis to detect possible duplicate events. When two or more entries describe the same event, the system automatically identifies the most accurate version and removes the likely duplicates.

More improvements will follow when we have time.

1. Invite the bot

On Group Info page add @ConsciousEventsAljezurBot to your Telegram group.

2. Give the bot the right permissions

Bots need to be "group admins" to be able to read messages:

• Go to Group Info
• Long press the ConsciousEventsAljezurBot username
• Make the bot a group admin
• Allow the bot to read messages only. Disable all other permissions.

The bot does not moderate or manage your community. It just quietly listens for event posts and forwards the relevant info to our system.

3. Post a short announcement in your group

Here’s a short message you can post and pin for your members:

To make it work, please include date, time, location and price as text, not only on an image. 🙏
